Easter Bike Tour – Celtic Trail West in South Wales

17 03 2010

Rach and I have been playing with the idea of doing this ride for some years now. It’s the western section of the Sustrans Celtic Trail, starting in Swansea it goes out to Carmarthen then overland to Fishguard, back around the coast to Carmarthen via Tenby and on to finish where you start in Swansea.

It’s a part of the world that Rach and I have been to before, but given that my Grandfather comes from round that way, we have not explored there enough, and neither of us have ever cycled there. Planning is still in the early stages, but it looks to be around 230 miles and I would like to make it a lightweight tent free tour by using YHA’s, Warmshowers, and/or Couchsurfing. Getting the bike load down keeps the cycling enjoyment up!

Anyway, that’s the plan, we shall see if it actually happens 🙂
